State Surgeons Unit (SSU) is a professional agency for medical practitioners across the United States. The creation of SSU provides certification, credentialing and national recognition for practitioners. Additionally, it establishes a creditable database of certified physicians, dentists, and top specialists who are dedicated to providing the highest quality of health care and outstanding service to their patients.

Personalized photo ID cards, State Surgeons Unit shields and parking placards are issued to members to establish proper identification of their medical specialty in day-to-day activities as well as in times of critical need. These credentials may also be useful in emergency situations, or when interacting with law enforcement, if a licensed doctor is needed in a setting other than a private practice, the hospital, etc.

SSU is an elaborate network that enables members to establish professional relationships with other doctors in our Unit. Cross-communication between specialists allows for in-depth knowledge and enhanced patient care.

It is suggested that members keep their shield and ID card with them at all times for identification purposes. These credentials may be useful in identifying yourself to law enforcement during emergency situations, or when a licensed doctor is needed in a setting other than a private practice, the hospital, etc.

How does SSU work with law enforcement agencies?
SSU is currently working to strengthen our relationship with state and local law enforcement agencies. SSU's medical and dental professionals represent every specialty and sub-specialty related to healthcare, both physical and mental. We provide these agencies with information about our members' practices because it not only increases your patient base, but provides state and local authorities access to outstanding medical care.
